Jean-Paul L. Cassia
Senior Partner

Jean-Paul Cassia is a British architect-developer and founder of XCASSIA, an international design and development platform with roots dating back to 1958.

Over the past twenty-five years, he has led and contributed to more than USD 2.5 billion of mixed-use, hospitality, residential and culturally anchored developments across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. His work spans landmark towers, hospitality destinations, urban regeneration strategies and branded environments where architecture, positioning, experience and commercial logic are conceived together from the outset.

Dual-trained in architecture, business administration and finance, Cassia operates at the intersection of design authorship, development intelligence and cultural positioning. His experience includes collaborations with investors, governments, family offices and global brands to structure projects, guide development strategies and shape destinations with enduring identity and long-term relevance.

Selected projects include Citystars Heliopolis Cairo (USD 1.2 billion), The Galleries Downtown Jebel Ali developed alongside Pei Partnership Architects, and a range of hospitality and destination-led developments across the UAE, Morocco, Vietnam and the wider GCC region.

Through XCASSIA, he has collaborated with international cultural and luxury figures including Thierry Mugler, Olivier Lapidus, Philippe Coupérie-Eiffel, Lanvin, Nino Cerruti and David Guetta — relationships that deepened his understanding of how culture, design, hospitality and narrative increasingly influence the future of real estate.

His perspective was further shaped by formative years in the United States and by more than two decades dedicated to classical guitar and musical composition. Music continues to inform his architectural thinking through rhythm, layering, proportion and emotional atmosphere — approaching destinations not simply as buildings, but as composed experiences.
This multidisciplinary approach continues to inform XCASSIA’s evolution toward culturally anchored and IP-led destination concepts where architecture, hospitality, entertainment and immersive experience converge into places designed to endure in memory as much as in form.
